After our zoo party, it was only fitting for a field trip to the zoo. December is not the ideal time but we made it work by laying up. The sun was out which helped a little bit. Maria let us loose around the zoo and quizzed us on the 3 different themes of the zoo. My answers of cold, snow and Christmas were not correct answer. To my surprise there was a lot more animals than we expected.

Welcome to the Zany Zoo
Mr. Gaylord and Barbara Frances thrilled about our party! |
All of our delicious snacks |
Last week for our creative play class we had to create a themed party for children. The ages we geared towards were 4 to 6. Since we all love the zoo, or because some of the nannies act like they should be in a zoo, we decided it was an appropriate theme. We broke off into groups in charge of invitations, decorations, food and games. The ENGS staff were our guests wearing hats of their favorite animals. We had a great time and plenty of laughs!
Lucky for ENGS, we had a reporter from W magazine in town working on a story about school and nannies. She had no idea what was in store for her when she walked through our doors. Daphne was great and took part on all the activities.
Our teacher Maria, Daphne from W, founder of ENGS Mrs. Roth, Lynne our placement director, and Riki who is currently working the front desk. |

Movin' On Up..... or down
Oh, and by the way!!
I was offered the position in South Carolina. The parents called school last week asking for a second visit. I Flew down Sunday evening arriving just in time for baths. I jumped right in giving the boys a bath, which one was not exactly excited about. After the parents and I put the boys to bed, I was extremely nervous for the next morning when I was on my own. All I could think about was the boys freaking out at 8AM when I opened their bedroom door.
The boys are both so easy going and warmed up to me with no problem. Monday night after the boys went to bed the parents and I sat and talked for 3 hours. They asked how I would adjust to being away from my parents, if I would be ok with the living arrangements, etc. They are both very open and easy to talk to which is great for me.
Tuesday morning when the mom was leaving for work she said she would call the school and hopefully have paper work ready for me if I was interested in the job.

LAST DAY
10 years later, the day has finally come. I am hanging up my BLUE shirt! Friday night December 16th (5 pm until midnight) will be my last night at Taggarts as I embark on my new adventure Sunday morning.
Never did I think the restaurant could handle me for such a long time. We had our laughs (from customers and employees), we had our battles (getting stuck between swinging doors), we’ve had our heart to hearts (front table for dinner. Table 6 for ice cream) and we’ve had tears (mainly from the laughter).

All in all it has been a great run, meeting amazing people, hearing stories. The restaurant has been such apart of my life and that will never change!!
I appreciate all of the positive words, thoughts and well wishes along the way. That is truly what has gotten me through these last 3 months.
Stay tuned….

Leaving On A Jet Plane!
Friday after Thanksgiving I left for my first (Crossing my fingers that it will be the last) job interview in the Greenville area of South Carolina. It really threw me for a loop because the sun was out for most of the weekend! I wasn't nervous one bit. I sat next to this 9 year old boy who was going to Florida for the weekend with his family. As soon as I started talking to him, he put his head phones in and tried to ignore the crazy lady sitting next to him. He eventually warmed up during our 1.5 hr flight to Charlotte and we became best buds.
The dad picked me up at the airport and took me to the house where the twins were waiting along with their other nanny. The boys were adorable! I had to coax them a little bit about wanting to open my presents, a book and OSU shirt (which they wore on sunday). It was very easy getting to know the parents as well as the other nanny and getting to know the daily routine of the boys. Everything the dad was telling me about what he is looking for in a nanny, I feel I already am. And by no means do I think I am a big deal! I do what I do, I act the way I do, what you get is what you see.
I keep telling myself that things happen for a reason, and if it is meant to be everything will fall into place. With this particular family, things are falling in to place. They are fun, easy going, and wanting to make me apart of the family.
Well...... the mom called school in Monday letting them know about the weekend. Both the parents really liked me and thought I fit in well. They asked if I could come down for a few days to spend more one-on-one time with the boys. With both parents, the nanny, and myself there was a lot going on. So I am leaving sunday afternoon for 2nd interview! I am so excited to be really get to know the boys and hopefully they will like me. That is secretly what this is all about!

Let It Snow
Who is ever ready for the white stuff? No matter if you are physically prepared, there is no way of mentally preparing yourself. I love the snow every time it falls but like everyone else I hate being cold.
Chagrin Falls had it's first snow the beginning of November which I missed because I was home. I woke up Wednesday morning to the ground covered with snow. Granted I am closer to the lake so snow comes more often. I was kicking myself because I didn't have any winter coats or scarfs. But I did have automatic start! Hands down the best christmas present my parents have ever given me!!!!! Two little clicks and 5 minutes later I got in to my thawed out, nice warm Jeep.
However, Thursday morning I wasn't thinking ahead when I noticed frost on my car. My scrapper broke the year before due to the ice storm. I had to made do with my lovely nails. They always come in handy
